We are dedicated to manufacturing and justifying a better automation product, to innovation and excellence in manufacturing, to solid and continuing customer service and support, and to continuously hosting a creative, experienced engineering team. We build better manufacturing environments with process-specific automation technologies.
Our Facilities

Process Automation Technologies™ was founded in Detroit in 1954 as Campbell Machines Company, and quickly developed patented engineering designs and machinery for industrial parts feeders and component systems for varied industrial environments. The company restructured as Process Automation Technologies to more accurately reflect our diversity and competence in 2001. Today, we are a single source for the most complete and well-rounded lines of parts feeders in the industy. We build and design our own material handling and automation systems from the ground up, and support our installations with a full one year warranty and continued, year after year support.

We were the first to develop and integrate into our machine designs:
• Vibratory orienting storage feeders (1956)
• Open-Flex feed track (1958)
• Straightline feeders (1961)
• Rod feeders (1963)
• Belt with integrated vibratory feeders (1982)
• Gentle Roll-over stock box converter (1993)
• Gentle Fill stock box filler (1994)

And the innovations continue... • Solid state controls (1967)
• Double-belt feeders (1969)
• 2060 Roller Chain elevator chain (1976)
• Integrated Systems Division (1987)
• Industrial parts washers (1989)
• Gentle Drop-bottom stock box unloaders (1992)
• Robotics integration (2000)

In 1986, the company relocated to the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, near Asheville. We are centrally positioned near interstates 40 and 26, near 2 major airports in Charlotte, NC and Greenville, SC, and have our own regional airport in Asheville. We have an enormously talented labor pool to draw from, with many local area colleges and technical schools. Our 30,000 square foot facility houses an excellent fabrication shop, engineering department, and our sales and administrative support staff.

We have developed, and continue to develop, creative solutions for process-specific parts handling systems and equipment for all types of industry. We manufacture vibratory, gravity, and belt orienting parts feeding equipment, conveyors, floor hopper elevators, and combination feed systems, escapements, cross-slides and loaders, gentle handling systems, in-process storage solutions, time or count-based feeders and packaging systems, bulk and orienting systems and more.

Industrial parts washers were introduced in 1989, and since then we have grown this line to include both stand-alone washers and process-integrated wash, package, inspect, and other surface preparation systems. Our aqueous parts washers deliver several unique design features, including our integrated drain decking, upper housings that are bolted to the drain deck and an integral tank or optional separate tanks with lift-off panels for very large units. We provide ambient, gas, electric, steam or combination heat systems with stainless or combination stainless and mild-steel construction.

Further advancing our company's growth is our Integrated Systems Solutions division, officially declared a company initiative and service group in 1987, although integration is what we've been doing since 1954. Advances in manufacturing technology require ergonomic designs, lean-cell and flow-through departmental automation, robotics and OEM integration, pick and place solutions, high flow rate high capacity parts handling, and so much more. With our in-house engineering, programming, build, test, and run-off capabilities, and our experience, we are the perfect choice for factory integration, post and in-process materials handling, materials packaging systems, and justifiable automation solutions. All equipment/installations are provided with a full compliment of user/technical manuals, support, and diagnostic tools.
